Missed a Few Blogging Days, HOME!

Last week was quite the week ending with our departure from Crouse and Craig and I are now engaged! :)

Life has been a whirlwind the past couple months ending with the most chaotic and busy best week ever. Our official discharge day was Saturday, January 30. Crouse allowed us to use a conference room so that our family and friends could come to the hospital to see Wyatt and see us off. It really was hard to believe that we finally made it to the end of our stay in Syracuse.

Saturday came quickly. Craig and I had the majority of Wyatt's discharge papers completed so there was not much to complete Saturday morning. We got to the hospital around 10:30am......it seemed like the same routine. It wasn't until Wyatt's nurse started removing all of his remaining chords did it really hit me that we were leaving. First she removed the monitor leads, then the oximeter (spelling?) and lastly his HUGS security tag was removed. He's a free man! Wow, really different handling your baby with no attachments when you are use to him being attached to a monitor and machines.

I took care of the remaining things while Craig was busy receiving family and getting the nursing staff lined up to take a group photo in D Nursery with us. 11:30am came and we were done with everything. Yahoo...Mary carries Wyatt into D Nursery to join the group and I go get our parents to join the group photo. Little did I know the whole group photo thing was a rouse. As I enter D Nursery I focus on no one because there was a big group gathered. Then Craig walks towards me and gets down on one knee.....the rest was a blur. All I can recall was his loving words ending with, "Will you marry me?" I was floored and my brain had a difficult time switching from go home gear to will you marry me gear. Of course I said yes!!! Then almost 3 dozen nurses and others presented me with roses. It took the remainder of the day to come out of the shock of going home with our son in tow and being newly engaged. What a wonderful day that will never be forgotten...best surprise ever. Of course we have photos and video that will be posted and shared with all of you.
