What a way to start off the day. We get to the NICU a little on the later side and apologize to Wyatt up and down for being a little late. Our nurse Barb was out to lunch but nurse Katie is there and she was Wyatt's nurse Thursday evening a.k.a bath time/weigh in. We had to know, "Katie, how much did Wyatt weigh in at last night?" Katie flips through his chart, "900 grams!!!!" Yahoo! 900 up from 835. Just shy of 2lbs which is 907 grams.
We hear a familiar voice, Mary! Nurse Mary is back.....well not as Wyatt's nurse but she is in nursery A anyways. Chit chatting with her for a while we learn of some statistics. She was commenting on how awesome Wyatt was doing and gave us some relative statistics. Statistics are against premature white males in terms of survival. Females and people of color have better rates of survival in the preemie world.
Lost track of time the ultrasound technician pulls up to Wyatt's isolette for his 14 day ultrasound of his brain. We'll learn the results tomorrow morning.
